S. I. Inc.

S. I. Inc. is a team of management scientists, under the direction of Robert Schuldenfrei, dedicated to solving business problems. For more than 30 years we have been serving firms nationwide. Although S. I. Inc. has established expertise in manufacturing, data processing, and logistics, its principle strength is in developing and organizing meaningful information from existing data. We offer you general and specific skills, experience, software, equipment, and education.

We have resolved management dilemmas for business large and small.

The Problems

You may be spending too much - too often the rash application of resources (both money and people) does not solve problems.

You may not be using available technology - prohibitively high costs of hardware and software prevent many businesses from applying a broad range of tools to inventory control, distribution, manufacturing control or even basic accounting.

You may be misusing your system - it is a common fallacy that the collection of business data is a sufficient end product, and an accurate measure of the worth of a data processing system. On the contrary, some very specialized analytic techniques are required to transfer that data into meaningful and useful information.

You may not have the knowledge - beyond an awareness of available tools you may need education in their applicability and use.

You may simply not have the resources - internal staffing priorities may dictate a diversion of talent from computer applications. In smaller firms certain areas of expertise may not even be represented at all.

The Attack

S. I. Inc. wants to help you attack these problems, be they complex or simple. A fresh view, free of the bias of familiarity, can be more innovative and creative. Extant solutions are often discovered just by looking from a different angle.

Identify the target - we can analyze your operation, interview staff, observe procedures, review data and the means by which it is collected to help reveal points of opportunity. Your systems can be a good source of management data.

Explore solutions - we can present you with alternatives for dramatic improvement and help you to select the one that best fits your special case.

Implement the answer - we can provide the complete answer, including: procedure design, computer hardware, packaged software, custom programming, and general consulting.

Grant you independence - we will train your staff to be self-sufficient in carrying out the solution we design. Whatever customized tools we develop are yours without restriction.

Remain available - we can be reached for your future needs. If, in time, you need more help we’ll still be here providing a continuity of the best quality service.

The Team

All engagements of S. I. Inc. are under the direct control of Robert Schuldenfrei, President. Various other specialists are brought in for specific projects.

Mr. Schuldenfrei holds a Master of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and an AB in Economics from Syracuse University. Since the founding of S. I. Inc. in 1981 he has developed and purchased software for business management with a particular concentration in manufacturing. S. I. Inc. markets the proprietary MCS-3 system, software for manufacturing. In support of our software products, he does consulting in production management. During the growth of the firm, he designed and implemented administration, finances, marketing, and production.

Prior to the founding of S. I. Inc. Mr. Schuldenfrei was Vice President, Shycon Associates Inc. and was the cofounder and a shareholder in this consulting firm. He directed the consulting operations during the entire period of association. He was responsible for the design, staffing, and execution of nearly all work the firm performed. The work included the construction of computer simulation models for the evaluation of corporate distribution strategies. Initially, he was responsible for the actual programming. Later the job emphasis was on design and supervision. This consisted of leading a team of consultants to develop and implement a production / inventory control system. This project combined a real time inventory management system with batch MRP planning.
